The call for the Routing Equipment Bidding Process for the update of RedCLARA’s infrastructure in South America is open since September 13.
The first phase of the tender closes on October 15 and seeks the acquisition of nine (9) routers for the new IP layer that will support 100GBPS high capacity links for the BELLA-T project. Routers will be installed in the following countries: Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Panama, Colombia, USA. The bidding will be conduced through a competitive procedure with negotiation in accordance with the EU Public Procurement Directive and repealing Directive 2004/24 / EC.
BELLA-T is a project funded by the European Commission under Contract LA / 2016 / 376-534 with the objective of achieving a significant long-term improvement of the South American academic network, which allows the Latin American Regional Research and Education Network, RedCLARA, guarantee the complete and equitable access of the NRENs of Latin America to the capacity of the direct submarine cable between Europe and Latin America that is being acquired through the BELLA-S Project, an underwater part of the BELLA Program.
