How the advanced European networks are dealing with the pandemic of Coronavirus and what Latin American networks can learn from their experience is the theme of the “Dealing with COVID in the European R&E Community” webinar, which will take place this Friday, March 27, at 12:00 GMT (9am in Brasilia). This is an initiative of the Superior School of Networks (ESR), the training arm of the Brazilian advanced network, RNP.
In this virtual meeting, Klaas Wierenga and Gyöngyi Horváth will bring the recent experience of GÉANT, the advanced pan-European network, in actions to support its regional research and development community. What is being done to help combat COVID-19? What could they have done differently, with the knowledge they have today? What is a change of habit (is it a change of habit?) for GÉANT employees who work from home today?
Klaas Wierenga is the Chief Information & Technology Officer of GEÁNT and recognized worldwide for being the creator of eduroam. Gyöngyi Horváth, in turn, is responsible for GÉANT's community support office in Amsterdam, working with the academic network community, supporting its efforts to improve educational activities.
Registration for the webinar is free of charge and there will be simultaneous translation from English to Spanish and Portuguese. For more information, please visit https://esr.rnp.br/webinar/geant
