14 December 2021: Join the “Launch of D4D Hub Latin America and the Caribbean”

This high-level online event will showcase the impact of digital solutions and promote a human-centric model of digital transformation through contributions by the EU Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen, the Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Alicia Bárcena, Secretary of State of Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Stanislav Raščan, as well as many other high-level speakers as the Executive Director of RedCLARA, Luis Eliécer Cadenas.

The EU and LAC have a shared interest of strengthening their digital cooperation and are looking forward to the establishment of the EU-LAC Digital Alliance in 2022. The D4D Hub is a key platform to make this possible, fostering human-centric digitalisation, advancing convergence in rules and standards, and promoting innovative digital solutions to global challenges with a strong participation of the private sector.

Under the motto of “Working Better Together through the Digital4Development Hub (D4D Hub)”, the event will be carried on-line on 14 December 2021 at 15:00 CET (14:00 GMT) and will be livestreamed at https://d4dhub.eu/lac-event.

Digital technologies are increasingly transforming societies and economies on a global scale.  By joining forces the Team Europe through the D4D Hub aims to take on this challenge, strengthening international digital partnerships and unlocking digital cooperation opportunities.  The D4D Hub vision is to shape a sustainable digital future for all, bridging digital divides to place people at the heart of digital economies and societies worldwide.

Among other relevant issues, the D4D Hub promotes a comprehensive values-based approach for digital economies and societies worldwide. It’s LAC branch offers a single-entry point for EU partners in Latin America and the Caribbean to harness digital cooperation as a driver for growth across all sectors of the economy and to tackle inequalities; it will scale investments in the digital transformation of LAC partner countries, e.g., in bridging the digital divide, boosting digital entrepreneurship and innovation, and supporting a safe and fair data economy.
