The flagship conference of National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) in Latin America and the Caribbean is back. After a hiatus in 2022, TICAL will return in 2023 bringing together decision-makers, strategic partners, researchers, teachers, and academics to discuss the role of national networks in the digital transformation of education, research, and innovation.
The date and venue for the 2023 edition of TICAL have already been set: 14-15 November, in Panama City, hosting the conference again after 12 years. Known as the "Bridge of the World, Heart of the Universe" due to its geographical location, connecting the Americas and the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, Panama is the ideal venue for the event, which will bring together more than 200 experts from across the region to build a common agenda for development based on the digital economy.
The theme of this year's conference is "Bridges to Transformation", highlighting the role of National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) across Latin America and the Caribbean in connecting the regional digital ecosystem and fostering collaboration to advance countries' digital transformation.
In its "comeback", TICAL will be preceded by the BELLA II Open Strategic Dialogue, a project coordinated by RedCLARA, which aims to "contribute to the strengthening and expansion of the digital ecosystem (DE) of Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) by facilitating relations and exchanges between companies, research centers, educational institutions, and Latin American and European academic networks, in order to contribute to the achievement of the region's strategic objectives focused on strengthening education, science, technology, and innovation".
More information about the event, how to participate, the program, and the panelists will soon be available on the conference website, which is now online. Visit https://tical2023.redclara.net now. The TICAL2023 conference is organized by RedCLARA and the BELLA II project, in partnership with the National Secretary of Science, Technology, and Innovation of Panama (SENACYT).
